Exploring identity
Just finishing an illuminating book that Gopal (FW core member) lent me at our last FW retreat, “Identity and Violence, the Illusion of Destiny” by Amartya Sen. The whole book is a great exploration on individual and group identity(s) and how these are manipulated to mostly destructive effect – comes at a timely moment when I am thinking about the peacebuilding programme I am to deliver in Chad in July.
The chapters on anti-western and anti- globalisation sentiments I found particularly illuminating.
